Why did we create BRAVE?
We created this project because we feel that it’s important for the public to know how fake news is spread and produced, and we wanted to do something about it. This project is going to educate and spread awareness about the topic of fake news. This will allow young people to recognize and challenge the polarization and radicalization of online promotion, and engage in online/offline campaigns, anti-narrative and democratic public participation to promote European values.
What’s fake news?
Fake news is a technique to promote certain viewpoints or news items that might not be shared by other outlets. This allows the writer to get more exposure on social media by increasing their reach, as well as promote specific items of information that can be beneficial to them and their cause.
Fake news often has a political agenda, but can also be created with the purpose of entertainment. It can be anything from satire to outright false information.
